Welcome to Crescenta Valley Adventist School (CVAS). We are a K-8 private elementary school, dedicated to building character through academic excellence in a caring, Christian environment.

Our Mission
The Crescenta Valley Adventist School was established in 1924 with the intent of building character through academic excellence in a caring, Christian environment.  We continue this pledge with the belief that true education develops the spiritual, mental, social, and physical powers of each student, ensuring they are holistically prepared for their future.

Our Belief
CVAS is operated by the Seventh-day Adventist Church, providing a spiritually-oriented education for children. A belief in the existence of the Creator God is fundamental in the philosophy of Seventh-day Adventist schools. We respect His divine authority and recognize His intervention in human affairs. We believe that true education develops the spiritual, mental, and physical powers of each student; preparing them for the joy of service in this life and for the higher joy of service in the life to come. To achieve this goal, we encourage each student to:

  • develop a personal relationship with God and his fellow men as stated in Matthew 2:37-39
  • master the basic academic skills
  • value labor, physical and mental, as the
  • blessing God intended
  • cultivate physical fitness, mental ability, and moral purity as the blessing God intended.

Our Background
Our school is part of the world-wide Seventh-day Adventist school network,
operating in harmony with the guidance and direction of the Office of Education, North American Division of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.  The Seventh-day Adventist educational system includes elementary and high schools, colleges and universities in countries around the globe.  CVAS is proud to be a part of this large network of quality educational institutions, and we strive to continue the tradition of academic excellence.

Our School
Our fully credentialed teachers provide a high-quality level instruction to each of our students.  Our class sizes are limited to 24 students per classroom, allowing our children to receive the full benefit of their teacher’s attention and expertise.  Because of the academic preparation they receive, our students have consistently scored in the top 15 percentile in the nation, qualifying us to apply for blue ribbon recognition.

In addition to the academic focus we provide at CVAS, we also enjoy being and working together as a school family.  Our school fairs, field trips, hot lunch program, vespers and intramurals are all examples of opportunities for parents and families to be actively involved.  We find that by joining together to focus on the goal of educating our children and enriching their lives, we reap fantastic results – as evidenced by the wonderful students you find at CVAS.

Our Invitation
We invite you to become a part of our school family, a part of an atmosphere that embraces and nurtures children as they travel along their educational journey.   Browse our website, give us a call or visit our campus to catch a glimpse of our caring, Christian environment and see what it is that has convinced numerous other families to entrust their children with us.
